Originally developed for use in agricultural machinery, instruments with digital displays are now widely used in all types of cars, especially in some racing categories where absolute precision is required when reading the instruments. These instruments have a very long useful life, as they do not have moving parts that wear out. By incorporating a microprocessor, they provide the possibility of covering different applications with a single instrument, as they are quickly adaptable to different uses with a simple calibration.
